Last summer I posted about a BIG transformation in our backyard. You can read all about it here if you’re interested. Come to think of it, you really should to really appreciate the transformation that has taken place in our little side yard.
Living in Massachusetts we only have a few months to fully enjoy outdoor living, which also includes taking outdoor showers.
We were completely happy with new garden and walkway I made last summer. Completely content and excited to “open” our little outdoor shower space for the summer. That was until my friend Paul asked me “hey Michelle, could you use this piece of fencing for anything??”
Um, Of course I could!!
My husband Michael was gung-ho on helping install this little fence that we really didn’t need. He even had to cement the post into the ground making it a permanent structure. We worked as a team and I was so happy with how the fence looked.
However, yes, there is usually an however. We needed a little gate to finish the space. So a few days later, I dismantled a piece of fencing and put together a little gate. This completed the look but it snowballed into us deciding to update the entire walkway and extend it all the way to the back fence. Yup, it always happens this way.
Once we removed more soil and created an extension to the walkway, we needed to figure out materials and tried our best to use what we could find in and around our yard.
Teamwork makes the dreamwork. It’s a dirty job, but oh so satisfying.
Yay us!
