If you practice yoga you may be familiar with Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health located in scenic Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Kripalu is a magical experience. If you love yoga, healthy living, amazing food, I highly recommend visiting Kripalu for a day or even an R&R weekend away. Additionally, the teachers and staff are top notch.
Mala beads are a string of beads used for prayer/meditation. Mala is a Sanskrit word meaning garland used for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra, phrase or positive affirmations. With all of the beads I have, I decided to make myself a Mala necklace. A Mala necklace has 108 beads so for me the hardest part was keeping count (over and over and over again…*sigh*).
My mala is made with genuine Amethyst beads, sterling silver spacers and accent beads adorned with a purple tassel. I kept length in mind, making it long enough so that it can also wrap it around my wrist when I’m practicing yoga. I ended up making several more because they are so fun to make. My husband now has his own mala, my mom too!
I also made three necklaces for my beautiful yogi friends whom I met through our yoga teacher training. These ladies are the best; beautiful inside and out and funny! All we do is laugh when we’re together (and sometimes cry) but all good stuff.
My girls loved the handmade gifts I gave them during our weekend at Kripalu. We had an wonderful R&R experience. We did lots of yoga, journaling, meditation, massage, outdoor exploring and laughed our asses off for three days. It wasn’t easy staying silent during meals, so we opted to eat at the cafe (I blame Lauren). Peggy and I reluctantly walked into YogaDance feeling out of place, but by the end we were laughing, sweating and dancing queens (thank you for encouraging us Lori!). Oh-SO-much-good-for-the-soul-fun!
These sweet humans also surprised me with a cake for my 49th birthday which touched my heart deeply. Such a beautiful experience, shared with beautiful people. Thank you my friends.
Until we meet again Kripalu.
Thanks for stopping by,
